Closson's Design Center - Oakley, OH

"Cambridge's mesh was a great choice for the showroom environment. It cuts down on the harsh sunlight entering the space and provides a handsome exterior parallel to the large glass windows."

Beautiful

Closson's has been the preeminent resource in Cincinnati for fine art, furniture and interior design accessories and services since 1866. Naturally, when opening a brand new design center in Oakley, OH, Closson's drew inspiration from its impressive history, expertise and artistic eye to create a facility with unique visual appeal and an exterior that optimized the amount of light entering the interior showroom environment.

The Cambridge Solucent™ system provides an upscale exterior building façade that seamlessly integrates into the design center, beautifully filtering sunlight during the day and reflecting projected light at night.

Functional

The Solucent system on Closson's exterior provides the perfect solution for its interior. The inherent nature of architectural mesh allows it to cut down on harsh sunlight and only allow quality natural light to pass through. As a result, the Solucent system optimizes the space by manipulating light to provide an ideal interior environment well suited to displaying art and furniture pieces.

Affordable

Cambridge provided an architectural mesh exterior with shading properties that make running the building more affordable. The mesh system blocks the sun, resulting in decreased cooling costs, and captures useful natural light to reduce electricity costs. Additionally, stainless steel architectural mesh is a recyclable material that is virtually indestructible, outlasting most other materials in durability and ultimately reducing the need to repair or replace the exterior.

Sustainable

Cambridge's Solucent system is 100% recyclable, contributes to daylighting and does not mitigate views – all important considerations for high-performance buildings. Finally, the Solucent metal fabric shading system used in Closson's Design Center was engineered to hold up in extreme temperatures and to ultimately provide a long-lasting architectural solution.
